Two men from Tripura were nabbed by police in East Jaintia Hills and were found to be transporting 68kg of cannabis.
The incident occurred on Monday at around 5:30pm when police were checking vehicles at a roadblock in Damcherra, Kuliang, on National Highway 6.
A Tripura-registered Hyundai Santro (TR 01 AB 0422) was stopped and, during checking, several packages containing the narcotics were discovered.
The duo was identified as Binoy Debbarma (38) and Kumar Debbarma (30). A case has been registered against them at Lumshnong police station under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
