Shillong, Feb 2: Two members of the Federation of Khasi, Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP) were summoned to Sadar Police Station here today regarding a case of alleged molestation at a city coaching centre.
Khrawkupar Nongsiej, the FKJGP’s chief organising secretary, said that the case involves the alleged molestation of female students in August last year.
Nongsiej claimed that after the first incident, the student informed her father, who then contacted FKJGP members. The members were asked to wait and observe if the teacher repeated the offence.
According to Nongsiej, the teacher molested another student within a week, prompting the pressure group to meet the coaching centre’s director, leading to the teacher’s termination.
Nongsiej questioned the police’s decision to summon the FKJGP members, suggesting it was an attempt to intimidate those helping the victims.
