Two suspected drug traffickers were arrested by Ri-Bhoi police today.
The duo were identified as Peter Lamare and Vikash Masih of Punjabi Lane in Shillong. They were detained by police at around 3:45pm at a petrol pump at Shangbangla on the Shillong-Guwahati highway.
Police found heroin weighing 46.14 grammes. The drugs and a scooty (ML 05T 2927) the two were travelling on were seized by the authorities.
The arrest was made following a tip-off, police said. A criminal case has been registered against the men and further investigations are ongoing.
