Sixteen persons have been arrested for their involvement in a clash that broke out between the TMC and the NPP at Charbatapara booth in Phulbari assembly constituency of West Garo Hills district.
Chief Electoral Officer FR Kharkongor today said a case has been registered and investigation is going on as efforts are being made by district election machinery to arrest others involved in the incident.
“All trouble mongers shall be made to execute bond for good behaviour. Authorities are keeping a close watch over the situation,” Kharkongor said adding that the court has also issued notices for appearance tomorrow.
