More than 1,000 students graduated from Martin Luther Christian University on Friday as the private varsity celebrated its 16th convocation here.
The chief guest was Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma with academic, poet and cultural conservationist Theyiesinuo Keditsu the convocation speaker.
Distinguished Alumni Awards were also handed to five individuals for 2023 – Alcydayne Lyngkhoi for her active participation and contribution in the field of community mental health, Alino Sumi for her excellence in extensive research work in the field of indigenous knowledge system and wellbeing of indigenous communities, Khrawboklang Tynsong for his work in data checks and quality control for Assessment Survey Evaluation & Research and for his selfless dedication in conducting awareness on ‘Right to education’ to the grassroot communities. Shempanglin Khardewsaw and Freddy Connor Kharmutee were also acknowledged for their contribution in the field of music education and music performance in various platforms in the region.
