Shillong, Jan 11: The three-day Zonal Youth Convention of the Shillong Archdiocesan Catholic Youth Movement (SACYM) ended at the Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians, Laitumkhrah.
Over 1,000 youth delegates from five parishes participated, focusing on moral formation, catechism and leadership development.
The final day featured a mass by Fr Rister Malngiang and felicitation of youths excelling in academics and sports. SACYM pastoral secretary Damily Massar urged young people to keep Christ at the centre of their lives, emphasising faith in Jesus as the source of true hope and strength.
Archbishop of Shillong Victor Lyngdoh had earlier called on the youth to remain rooted in faith, prayer and service, highlighting their role as the future of the Church and society.
