The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) apprehended 10 non-Khasi labourers today while they were on their way to work in Shella.
According to the KSU, Umsning circle the labourers were travelling in a sumo were detained as they did not possess valid documents and entered the State in violation of the Inter-state Migrants Workmen (Regulations of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act 2011.
All of them were later handed to the police at Umsning police outpost.
